SERV Ministries
Tax I.D. Number 87-0618100
IRS 501(c)3 STATUS

Current Status

SERV Ministries is a 501(c)3 in GOOD STANDING with the IRS; all donations are tax-deductible.

Please Note: Presently, the IRS website INCORRECTLY shows SERV Ministries on the AUTO REVOCATION list, even after being reinstated on June 3, 2020, when the ministry’s current accountant satisfied all IRS requests to confirm previous incorrect information. We apologize for any discrepancies due to the slow operations of the IRS website and staffing during the pandemic.

The IRS Revocation letter dated June 3, 2020, clearly states that SERV Ministries is exempt from Federal Income Tax, which means all donations are tax-deductible. (PLEASE click on the blue lettering above to review the Letter of Reinstatement.)

History

In 2017, Patrick and Shari Bailey (the Baileys) were offered SERV Ministries by Rev. Dr. Maurice Hansen after his trip to the Philippines, where they witnessed firsthand how the Baileys positively impacted the Bajao. The Bailey’s ministry operated under a different 501(c)3 beginning in 2001, but it wanted to manage its own 501(c)3 as it was experiencing growth in its ministry, which the former 501(c)3 couldn’t keep up with.

Rev. Dr. Maurice Hansen and his CPA informed the Baileys that SERV Ministries had a small problem in 2004, which was cleared up, and SERV Ministries is in good standing with the IRS and the State of California.

In 2018, the Baileys were informed that SERV Ministries was not in good standing with the IRS. The Baileys contacted the IRS and were informed that SERV Ministries was indeed on the Auto-Revocation list and would remain there until some discrepancies were fixed.

The Correction

The IRS sent a list of items to the Bailey’s that needed to be corrected, which the new CPA supplied in August of 2019. Due to the slow nature of the IRS Recertification Office, SERV Ministries was not reinstated until June 3, 2020. And due to the slow nature of the operation of the IRS website, SERV Ministries continues to be listed in the AUTO REVOCATION list, even though the attached letter clearly states that SERV Ministries is exempt from Federal Income Tax, which means all donations are tax-deductible.
