501(c)3

S E R V Ministries
Tax I.D. Number 87-0618100
IRS 501(c)3 STATUS

Current Status

S E R V Ministries is a 501(c)3 in good standing with the IRS and all donations are tax deductible.

Please Note: Presently the IRS website incorrectly shows S E R V Ministries on the AUTO REVOCATION list, even after being reinstated June 3, 2020, when the ministry’s current accountant satisfied all IRS requests to confirm previous incorrect information. We apologize for any discrepancies due to the slow nature of the operation of the IRS website and staffing during the pandemic.

The IRS Revocation letter dated June 3, 2020 clearly states that S E R V Ministries is exempt from Federal Income Tax, which means all donations are tax deductible.

History

In 2017 Patrick and Shari Bailey (the Bailey’s) were offered S E R V Ministries by Rev. Dr. Maurice Hansen after his trip to the Philippines to witness firsthand how the Bailey’s were positively impacting the Bajao. The Bailey’s ministry had operated under a different 501(c)3 beginning in 2001 but wanted to manage their own 501(c)3 as they were experiencing growth in their ministry.

IRS Inconsistency

In 2018 the IRS notified the Bailey’s that S E R V Ministries was being placed on the Auto-Revocation list until discrepancies were fixed. The previous CPA represented to the Bailey’s that a problem had occurred some years before but was fixed. Not only had the CPA failed to correct the mistake within their guidelines but also misrepresented to the Bailey’s that S E R V Ministries was in good standings.

The Correction

The IRS sent a list of items to the Bailey’s that needed to be corrected, which the new CPA supplied. Due to the slow nature of the IRS Recertification Office, S E R V Ministries was not reinstated until June 3, 2020. And due to the slow nature of the operation of the IRS website, S E R V Ministries continues to be listed in the AUTO REVOCATION list, even though the attached letter clearly states that S E R V Ministries is exempt from Federal Income Tax, which means all donations are tax deductible.
